Collections are contracts

Each collection is a contract between the editor and the code. If home, about, and legal pages share a folder, the contract is unclear.

Separate by purpose

  • Home is a single file with hero, features, pricing.
  • About is a single file with header, stats, team.
  • Legal is a folder of pages with header and body.
  • Blog is a folder of posts with metadata and body.

Each has its own fields. None of them overlap.

Fields are explicit

A field is either required or optional. It has a type. It has a label. That is what makes the editor usable.

Summary

A CMS does not fix a content model. It exposes it. Separate collections early and the editor stays usable as the site grows.
