What static means

A static SvelteKit site pre-renders pages at build time and serves them as files. No server runs on each request.

What changes

  • Routes with prerender = true are generated at build.
  • Dynamic routes need entries to list their params.
  • Server-only features are not available.

What stays the same

  • Routing model.
  • Component structure.
  • Content collections.

Summary

Static output is a deploy target, not a rewrite. The structure stays the same. Only the adapter and prerender settings change.
